How to join us?

To join the international action of solidarity of the world’s musicians with Ukraine, you need to register and provide information about yourself and your band to our team

Participation format

Performances of Ukrainian music by bands/performers from all over the world in the format of an offline/online concert, flash mob, street performance, video clip, musical performance, your playing to a recording of Ukrainian music, etc.

Example

If you have a concert scheduled for February 24, 2023, featuring works by Ukrainian composers, you can brand it and submit it as part of the international action of solidarity of musicians around the world with Ukraine, Music of Defiance. When posting information about the concert on your social media, please use the hashtags: #музиканезламних, #MusicofDefiance
If the program does not include music by Ukrainian composers, we suggest that you organize a small block of Ukrainian music before the concert as part of the international action of solidarity of musicians from around the world with Ukraine “Music of Defiance” with appropriate branding. When posting information about the concert on your social networks, please use the hashtags: #музиканезламних, #MusicofDefiance
If your band does not have a concert scheduled for February 24, 2023, you can join the action by organizing a flash mob with the performance of Ukrainian music in a public place or at your rehearsal base/studio, filming it on your phone and posting it on your social media with the hashtags: #музиканезламних, #MusicofDefiance
If you are not able to hold a concert, flash mob or performance at your rehearsal center/studio on February 24, you can post a video of the music of Ukrainian composers that you have performed before on your social media and brand it with the logo of the international action of solidarity of musicians from around the world with Ukraine “Music of Defiance” and the hashtags: #музиканезламних, #MusicofDefiance

Branding

As part of the international action of solidarity of the world’s musicians with Ukraine “Music of Defiance”, please use the official logo of the action in promotional materials, social media posts and press releases, and add the logo to your photos in social media profiles.

Communication and coordination

Follow us on Facebook and Instagram, and join our Facebook group, where you can communicate with project participants and post your materials created as part of the Music of Defiance solidarity campaign of musicians around the world with Ukraine.

Repertoire

An indicative list of iconic Ukrainian musical compositions to be performed (not exhaustive and not mandatory, the choice of musical compositions is entirely up to the musical group/performer, but it must be a Ukrainian composer or a Ukrainian folk melody in your interpretation):

  • Anthem of Ukraine (state identification),
  • С. Chernetskyi’s “Oh, there is a red viburnum in the meadow” (identification of the current resistance),
  • Kalush Orchestra “Stefania” (identification in popular music in 2022, Eurovision winners)
  • Leontovych’s “Shchedryk” (international identification of Ukraine),
  • Skoryk “Melody” (identification in the academic music environment),
